Yes I have an ozpig that I picked up secondhand a little while ago from a mate for $130 which is why I grabbed it as I had made a homemade job but I really like how the real one packs away. It is good for taking away to places that you can't have a fire on the ground or you want a small fire near the van. Good for cooking on and lots of options for them but I only have the basics. @relgate has the spit option on his. Down side is they are a bit heavy and bulky and are not great for heating a big group but are good for just the family to gather around.

I have one which we took away for our Flinders Ranges trip.
Look... it's a bit of fun and worth it just to have a fire (who doesn't like stoking a flame) but in all honesty they don't pack a huge amount of heat if you are thinking about four of you sitting around it. You really have to crank it up. (My Bunnings outdoor electric heater - if you have power - is sensational).
I bought the door with the mesh to avoid sparks flying out and the cast iron grill.
For cooking, I've only used it as a basic BBQ but the webber 200 would win hands down for size and ease.
It all packs down neatly and I plan on firing it up again at home on the deck (with extended legs this is fine).

I have used a few over the years - but never brought one for myself

they are great for camp ovens
and
ok to sit around in a small group, on not cold nights, just because its a fire

you can option them to the max, with anything and everything you could think of that will fit them

but as I said, I dont own one, just use if there is one within our group

@Bank of Dad we have had one for around three years now, they are a great piece of kit we have used ours as a heater a waste disposer, to cook on, to keep food warm and they become a great conversation piece when you have them set up and burning at your camp site. I brought it when we had our soft floor camper trailer, these days we use it at home more than when we are away. It used to live in the C/T now we have the Expanda finding a spot for it to travel is not as easy as chucking it in a trailer.

They have a great range of accessories that can be added to them and they are not a cheap item but as is always said you get what you pay for, the quality of the unit and the components is spot on. The only accessories I have added to our pig is the leg extensions to bring it up higher so you don't have to bend over as far and the angled piece for the flue with two straight extensions so you can get any smoke that comes out further away from where you are sitting.

I love the pig.
I use it all the time at home and camping.
It's true it doesnt throw out heaps of heat due to size, but the trade off is you have a very neat, safe controllable fire to cook on. When we camp in big groups we have an open fire and I still take the pig to cook on.
I use the camp oven to make the best roasts and one pot wonders you've ever tasted. I also have a home made spit which does an amazing charcoal chicken (with the charcoal basket).

I have had one for years, before all the add on's became available, have used it at home and out bush, good thing is they use very little wood, but as others have said they are not massive heat producers, which for Nth Qld is fine. It was the only thing we were able to use on the beach at Fraser, even had the once over by the ranger and he gave it a thumbs up.
