overhead cupboard hinges

has anyone else had problems with cupboard hinges we have had both end ones come apart tried to move fixings but to no avail any fixes or solutions gladly received

Ah, the old crappy Jayco hinges and cupboard struts.....
Dont worry Blip59, you're not alone! Seems to be common among all Expanda models. The main reason the hinges pull out is the struts/stays are just too strong and the Jayco laminate timber is too weak. Jayco also use screws that are rubbish.
There are a few options to remedy this:
1. Change the struts over. Some members have changed over to gas struts, although this option could be expensive to do all cupboards. There are other cupboard stays you can buy (non gas) from caravan stores online.
2. An inexpensive option would be to remove all hinges, knock in a match stick with wood glue and when dry screw the hinges back up but with a slightly longer screw with a bigger gauge. Forum Member Burnsey shared this one in a thread below and I have copied and done the same, works a treat! Burnsey and other members also pack match sticks in their tool kit just for fixing ripped out hinges.
