Hey guys
We're traveling western QLD and there's a couple of things that stand out for the wrong reasons.

If your into internet and phone reception then for us Optus does not cut the mustard, or any supplier that uses the Optus network.

and 2 Woolworth/ caltex servos if your towing . They are always small and tight and make things hard if towing.

just my twos cents worth

never mind outback, my local woolies/caltex is no go with the van, I have to top up before hitch'n up, or go to the BP further down in next suburb

Agree about Optus coverage. Not just in the outback, either.
Also have found a few caravan unfriendly servos in my travels. Tight entry and exit or very narrow curved drive throughs. And those bloody right angle exits from pumps!!!, not to mention low awnings, etc. I always try for the old fashioned truck fuel stops now, with the hi-flow diesel pumps. Have a pair of gloves in the back of the Pathie so don't reek of fuel.
(Not fancy but some you can get a decent $5 burger at as well.) Staff are often mechanics, good for road advice etc., not just shop cashiers. A few Victorian towns I passed thru at Easter didn't have any van friendly servos in the town at all...had to look on the outskirts. Amazed that some places that must depend on the tourist dollar and passing traffic don't have adequate caravan parking either. Those that do get my repeat custom and I let people know I appreciate it.

I didn't find optus service too bad but notably my father in law had telstra and certainly had better reception.
As for woolies servo's - i usually try to avoid them as my Prado hates the petrol from them. Soon however i will have to re-check this as i will have a diesel... YAY .. just not sure which one. LOL

Yes. They keep fuel price down by not repairing diesel hoses until absolutely necessary, and I hate extra oil on my burger.
Yeah same here for me, gloves too. I commute on the freeway, truckstops are the norm and gotta love those high flow diesel pumps.
No it's not HM!!! They're no good with my moisturiser LOL!!

Ah you guys.....I bet they're pink as well!
When we go out to Cameron's Corner we will have to make sure we keep you guys a spot close to the ladies toilets.....:)

Probably I have read too many MSDS's. We're only sensitive about the high flow pumps at real truck stops, not the dinky bowsers at Woolies servos.
I don't like "oiling" the steering wheel or my eyes, besides the smell of diesel overpowers my aftershave:rolleyes-88:.
