I'm in the early stages of planning a red centre trip and was wonderingly anyone had been out to Dalhousie recently.....more importantly with the Expanda in tow????

I've the road out there can be quite bad, but I really keen to camp out there for a cole of nights. At the same time I would like the Panda to come back in one piece.

After Dalhousie I'd like to make my way back to the Stuart. Do I need to back track or is there a suitable track to haul the van?

Cheers

Hi mate, having done the road from mt dare to Dalhousie twice in the last two years, I'd be reluctant to take the expanda down it.
Very rough, extreme corrigations and constant large tennis ball size up to lawn bowls sized rocks. Dalhousie is great, but I can't imagine I'd want to tow anything in there.

Both times, cars wore some damage, from one destroyed sidewall, of a quality LT construction Tyre, the other trip was suspension damage.

After Dalhousie you would have to drive back down the same road, I'm afraid.

We travelled from Oodnadatta to Dalhousie last year. The group I was with did say the track to Mt Dare from Dalhousie was worse than to Oodnadatta. (they did a day trip)
IMHO, when we drove it, it wasn't that bad. If you have your tyre pressures down, and drive to the conditions, you could go in there.
