Ok, was working on a customers van today and these welds caught my eye. Van is brand new, cost $80000 and no, its not a Jayco.
Second pic shows not one but 8 welds ‘across’ draw bar.
Other pics show what a bird can do with a welder.

Hi @Moto Mech , haven't they ever heard of a clean weld and surface preparation?? And what about some phosphate or zinc spray (grey cold galv?) on weld points on completion?? With that rust starting now, that weld would not have strength and will break away in time. I am no welder, but that is definitely poor work and very poor prevention!! Been all over my Penguin and coated every weld I could find underneath and on draw bar to prevent that happening. Most has been through the galvanizing process anyway.

I was taught to never, ever weld across the draw bar, so never have....though see a lot with welds across the top, sides and a heap of TEK screws, I can only look and wonder at the loss of integrity of the A frame after all those holes and hot spots......
