So the newest family member has arrived. Not the human one....him we have had for a while....and occasionally will consider a trade or just pay you to take him......

Anyway....moving forward.......

Say hello to Anzac.....Red cross for the princely sum of $30.

Any advice about dog friendly parks will be welcomed. We didn't get him to leave him behind.

Although the wife said look for a Shitzu or Shitzbag or Shitzhead....something along those lines.

I being an obedient husband immediately went looking for an animal designed purely to emasculate any man that has, I don't know, blood running through his veins.

I viewed some of these animals, a term which I use loosely, many of which came with a handbag and voucher for testicular removal.

I decided that a rule of thumb for the dog choice should be as follows;

Can I walk into the bar of the pub at Wilcannia (insert like pub from other state) with this animal next to me and not be glassed through the eyeball by the barmaid.

After much consideration I came up with the following;

Red Cattle Dog

Just like a shitzman, Shitzdoodle etc but actually a dog.

I will deal with my decision accordingly......my neighbour has a spare cot mattress.........

Get the little fella use to the car as much as possible so ya know weather he'll travel well, our Border has travelled well from day one (she's now 6) absolutely loves the car, my sister-in-law has a Red Kelpie and wont have a anything to do it the car despite what ever they've tried.

If choosing your parks from guide books I've found the one that state "NO DOGS" in the guides often do so best just to ring and check, they do this as they often have seasonal restrictions like long weekends Easter and Christmas/New Year peak times.
I've found that most inland parks allow pets all the time where as the coastal ones have the restrictions. Some actually have breed restrictions.

Great looking dog there, also great name. About 4 years i had to put my best mate down (then at the back) the day before my birthday. I also named him Anzac but called him Zac for short. He was named Anzac also as i got him from the pound 10yrs earlier on Anzac Day, the day they were going to put him down. He left behind the one in the front which is patch. Both great dogs both out of the pound. Both went camping with us but only patch now. Love having him along, its that extra bit of security.
Enjoy your new mate cause thats what they are.

Had a bluey 20+ years ago but unfortunately no pic on here as it was before the digital age.... Must get the old pics out and scan some! Looked a lot like your Anzac @coled1970

Called him Bronsan after Charles Bronsan as Mrs Dagree was a fan of him at the time.... Straight faced whatever the scenario! But he was "My Boy"

Unfortunately had to put him down at the young age of 4 due to what is called Storage Disease. Vet likened his condition as behavioral changes including the equivalent of human migranes which could explain the reason for snapping at one of our daughters for no reason? Broke my heart watching that needle go in.

Since then we have had 4 border collies but the fur through the house is now doing Mrs Dagree's head in so if there is another 4 legged mate to join this household it will 99.9% be a true blue aussie breed :)

We have a border collie in training at the moment.Had her in the car from day one.Unfortunatly she was car sick until she was 4 months old.
We take her on a long drive every week increasing klms,now up to 400 klms and she is doing good.She is 7 months old now.
Cute puppy by the way.
