Since I have viewed and become a contributing member of this site, I have always been blown away by the amount of current/newer/late model vans members have.

I am in the process of getting information together for our next upgrade as well so i guess I will be a newer model owner possibly in the coming months or year and that is what lead me to this site.

We currently still own a 2007 16.49.2 Expanda which we have hung on to as it is layed out to suit our difficult needs (which makes it very hard to part with), and the same needs we have to carefully consider before we sign on for a new van.

My question is: Are there any members here who still have the older style Expandas?? and are you happy with it or are you going to upgrade as well??

Do I have currently have the oldest model here?

And if you have uprgraded to a newer expanda from an older model, what is the major factors that have made you happy you upgraded?

cheers

We upgraded to a larger expanda From 16.49.1b.
We wanted a full height van which is better insulated. Plus full toilet and shower.

If it still fits your needs and ticks all the boxes. Why change? I changed because i got sick of winding up the hawk

We love the van but are/were looking for one with a toilet shower and thought we might as well upgrade at the same time.
Unfortunately at the moment it seems to have been dashed on Tuesday when we discovered that the cubicle doors aren't wide enough to help our young bloke through it as he is wheelchair bound!

Back to the drawing board for the moment!:(

what about one of the models with a bigger ensuite? Maybe the 20 foot expanda or a discovery/starcraft? I think they might have bigger access doors.
Or... just a thought... What about getting Jayco to leave a wider opening and replacing the door with a waterproof curtain or concertina style door?

If you let Jayco know your circumstances, I'm sure they will work with you to make something suitable. They have a good reputation in the community and would want to keep it. Good publicity is always valued.

Give a call to head office. The dealers are generally pretty useless when it comes to anything out of the ordinary.
Yeah I get the feeling based on some of the comments I have seen in various threads that some dealers bend over backwards further than others.

We have an 06 14-44-3ob which has the shower toilet combo, we had an 05 12.37-2ob before that so there are still a few older ones out there, Ours is perfect for us and the only reason we will change it is to get a full van with an ensuite and bed inside which will be the StarCraft 16.51-3ob, which at about 45k wont be happening anytime soon.
