Hi all,
Purchased a 2010 Outback Work n Play last year. Have been away in it half a dozen times and done a combination of free camping and staying at Caravan Parks.
I have three kids, however the van we purchased only had the 2 bunks in the back. Had been just putting a mattress on the ground, however this was becoming increasingly annoying so recently made up a bunk to go above the one on the left had side and it works a treat.
Managed to get a set of plans to see if we had some bracing in the walls and luckily we did!!! Made an identical bed base to the ones in the van, ran some 45 x 45 angle up the wall, made some brackets and it looks liek it was supposed to be there. Put some legs on it for added strength which slot into some bigger box on the bottom bunk. Used an old wire brace from a toyota hilux so as I can fold it up when required.
Will try and post some pics.
Glad I came across this great forum as there are some great ideas on here!!
Regards,
Scott
