I've just joined, my names Terry and my wife is Shirley. We are awaiting delivery in mid July of a Discovery 16.52.3 wich we are towing with a Nissan Navara STR 3 litre Diesel, and now that we are retired intend to complete the around OZ trip that we started in 1978. We lived travelled and worked for 5 years in a Millard with 2 kids and only stopped when they had to start high school.

G'day Terry and Shirley and welcome to our friendly forum. As a retiree with an STR 3.0L Navara I feel a kinship already. :happy: How long and when do you plan travelling? We have been across the top to Broome and across the bottom to Perth but have not fully looped. You will enjoy trip if you allow plenty of time. Keep us posted with plenty of pix.

We will get going within the next 12 months in the meantime we will travel locally to work out the van and what we need. In the past we have been up and down the East coast working and out as far as Mt Isa so intend to do the west and work our way around to Cairns to see our kids.
We have the 05 model Navara so close to yours, its been a great car and has towed a 2 ton trailer yacht from Cairns to Vic without any problems.
