Hi all,
A quick acknowledgement and thank you to all the contributors of this forum. I have followed closely and enthusiastically on many of the stories and lessons learned. My family (wife and 2 kids) and I have have persisted for many years in a quality offroad camper trailer or alternatively tenting it when there has been track restrictions. This has always been fun, but we were admittedly a little envious of family and friends around us living in style and comfort that comes with vanning it. Regardless of the type!
Well, our wait is finally over so my introduction and first post might as well be to say we 'bit the bullet' and ordered the 17.58 3OB Starcraft (Pop-top) I know this has traditionally been established for the expanda purists, but the Starcraft posts have been so informative and helpful.
I am a happy tinkerer on all things with wheels and would be more than happy to pay forward any suggestions learnt from personal experience when the van hits the road. I am however not proficient nor experienced in contributing to a forum site. Please go easy on me!
Thanks again for all the information and we will look forward in anticipation to the arrival of our new jigger due roughly end of Nov - early Dec.
For those interested, we requested a few extras which includes;
Drifter Control Panel
Roof A/C, to accommodate
164L fridge
Picnic Table
External Shower with light
Extended Draw bar
Bike Rack
Solar

Continued, accidentally pressed wrong button already!
150W Solar Panel, &
Sound package for T.V and radio.
That's about it for now. We will now start getting a few things ready to give it a full going over and individualise it when the time arrives.
Let the Count Down Begin!

Welcome Add's, first post well done, we look forward to many more to come.

For everyone who reads this, Adam has some big shoes to fill as far as posts go, not only is he a family member of mine but more importantly he is a long time mate of @cruza driver.

Everyone is a mate of @cruza driver . He's the unofficial mayor of Australia!
Welcone @AddBincs . You're gonna love the van and wonder why you waited so long. See you on the tracks!

Hi @Bluey,
Thanks for the heads up on the external T.V point. I noticed the demo I looked at which was the 17.58 3OB had 12v outlet, and the T.V jack near the picnic table but I think it's worth reminding the salesperson to ensure it is fitted. I have a short list of reminders, big one being we would like the spare up back under the bike rack.

Thanks all for the welcome. It is a small world. @AzHaych is a close family member who helped out with many of the pre-purchase questions and suggestions plus a great reference to a friendly and helpful sales person in one of Melbourne's sales sites. Our families get away regularly to enjoy camping good company.
Thanks also to @relgate, @boots33, @Bluey, I did try to contact my lifelong friend and 'unofficial mayor of Australia' in @cruza driver as he also has provided me with hours (years!) worth of valuable q&a. We have been camping since before we had licences. I think he may be vetting my calls though!.....I know he will have a good laugh when he reads this.
I am really looking forward to meeting many of the members, swapping stories, and learning more from there.
Have a good one.
