Hi all, I have been wanting to get an annexe for the van but two things have stopped us -

1) Cost

2) Weight of the product

With this in mind I have not come to a firm decision to fork out 3k for an annexe with anti flap bars etc as of yet.

On my hunting and digging around what i did find is a new product by Australia Wide Annexes.

http://www.australiawideannexes.com.au/new_annexes/hybrid-awning.html

http://www.australiawideannexes.com.au/new_annexes/hybrid-gall.html

They are calling it a Hybrid Annexe which is a shade wall on steroids.

At half the cost of an annexe with anti flap bars and it comes fully sealed and water proof like an annexe.

Now for the deal cruncher, its only 15kg's in weight compared to the 30kg's of a full annexe.

So yes not as heavy as a full annexe but means it will be alot easier to put up / down, easier to man handle and will save some precious weight carrying capacity.

I may seem like a sales man for the product but just curious to see if any one looked at these yet in the flesh?

We have an Australia Wide Annexe and are quite happy with it except the boss is not overly happy with the colour. But she chose it, so she will live with it. I certainly would prefer something like this if it had been available at the time. Be interested to see one as well.

Tebbs for us and they were absolutely fantastic to deal with. One things i shouldve done is get the insert near the front and rear door where the uprights are so its easier to utilise the zippers.

Would be good to see this example though the weight saving is a big plus if you really need it within your carrying capacity. Pace.

Just left my van at Holiday Annexes on the way to work this morning to have a new rear annexe made.
Will have van back Thursday.

They showed me around and showed me the material they will build annexe out of and it seems very sturdy material.

Can't wait!

Expanda: When I was at Jayco Sydney they told me about the Annexes they prefer to use which is like a double layered tent type material and half the price if I was ever interested.

Could be worth a look although you probably already have!

Is this the same style you are talking about?

Hey there the one they are talking about is the Coast annexe -

The coast annexe does not attach like a normal annexe so is not as tough.

The australia wide annexes product attaches like a normal annexe so has the same properties as a normal annexe just lighter in weight and differing materials.

Chartrock,

Just wondering where the door goes, does it unzip and just get put into the bag through the day and then get zipped back on at night?
