Hi All
As mentioned in my first thread asking about tow vehicles, have been a lurker for a while, but thought I'd do a quick post as we took delivery of our new 16.49-4 this morning.
We sold our 2005 Hawk a couple of months back which we'd had for a couple years, and gave us the bug.
We weren't originally planning on going for a new model, but doing the rough sums, and looking at some of the new features, we decided this was the way to go. We decided to not ramp up the cost and went for stock standard, apart from $150 for two 12v sockets (one inside, one outside), as well as the radio unit with inside & outside speakers (which Caravanland put in to all vans apparently)
Only have a couple photos for now as I forgot to take more from my phone - I think my wife took a few more on the camera though so will try and find those.
As others mentioned, the choice of colours on the 2015 models wasn't great, and we were expected to not really like it, but were pretty happy when we saw it today.
I can now understand some of the comments that people mention about the quality control of Jaycos - some of the finishing is just not there - glue not cleaned up, cupboards not lining up properly, roof latches not lining up etc - but you do get a bit for your money, so you can't get too bothered I suppose.
The wireless light switches are great and there's a ridiculous amount of lighting - strip lighting and the normal lights on the roof, plus the strip on the awning.
I do have to check why I didn't get USB sockets on the 240v sockets (was meant to be included on the 2015 models), as that's something that is pretty useful these days.. Also didn't have lights in the cupboards as was meant to be included, but not sure if that worries me.
Now just have to finish getting it packed and work out when we can get away in it - got things on every weekend in May so have to wait a few weeks!
Cheers
Kane
