Hi all

My wife and I are looking at purchasing a 2006 Expanda Outback single axle with a few extras,, It has 3 solar panels mounted on the roof. 90 lt fridge, dvd/stereo fitted(probably standard) full stove and oven. has nice tool box fitted to front. The axles under slung for even more height.. Has a pull out awning with either full annes or shade mesh. No shower and toliet but I gues it would sleeo 6 with the table folding down.

Looks in pretty good condition overall

The asking price is 28K,, Is this reasonable?? sounds like it to me..

Is there anything I should be looking out for in particular...

cheers

Paul

Have a good look under the van, check everything that opens, closes and turns on and off.
From a price perspective have a good look on caravan and camping sales ot trading post. good luck

Paul, not sure of your location.

If you like the look of the van then ask a caravan repair facility to inspect it for you and give a list of what is wrong. It may cost you $100-200 but think of the money you will blow if you hand over $28k and find out you need to spend $$$$$ more!

Ask your local Jayco dealer if he is prepared to do it.

Otherwise I just googled repairs for vans in Brissy and came up with about 28 answers.

Hi Paul,

All of the above sounds like good advice, I would ring around a few dealers and get a few prices on the equivalent new model then compare. Good luck!

Agree with others here. Get checked out as you would a used car. Sounds OK though, nicely optioned/modified and if cosmetically in pretty good condition often means enthusiastic owner and probably very well maintained.

Given the way it's optioned (solar, etc) and subject to a checks suggested in earlier posts, you're in the right price range now. I've seen a few in the $27k+ range.
