After a bit of hunting around I have managed to buy myself a new car.

Car is a 2016 compliance plated Grand Cherokee Laredo Diesel. It is was pretty much bog stock and is an ex demo.

The car was sourced from a NSW dealer that was shutting up shop. Managed to cut a deal over the phone and flew up to inspect and collect the car. Drove it down to Melbourne the next day.

Since picking it up a week ago I have added Vic Rego, obviously, window tint and a towbar. A brake controller is going in next week.

I also spent the day giving it a good wash and wax.

A massive thanks goes to Warren Cook, he provided a huge amount of information with regards to the car I was after. The advice given, which was without any obligation etc, was priceless. Thanks again.

I am looking forward to getting away in the new ride soon.

Have a couple of minor purchases I am looking at, any advice would be great.

1. Portable dual battery pack, plan is to have a portable battery charging of an Anderson Plug in the boot powering my fridge.
2. Roof Racks for my luggage pod and ski racks etc.

Cheers,
Ash

Nice work.
My Laredo turns 4 this month. Great car and very few issues. Superb towing machine. Still on the first set of tyres too.
I can recommend the Pro Rack S Wings. Quiet and I've never taken them off. They are also wide so give you good carrying capacity if your keen to put some bikes up. (I carry 3 on the roof with no dramas).
Battery wise I've run my fridge for up to 2 days with no issue on the car battery but recently changed over to a portable Primus 44AH power pack. Trickle charged from the cigarette socket but looking to draw more amps off the 12 pin I use for the van.
Enjoy the car.

I still have a soft spot for the Grands, I would double check the tow bar chassis bolts after awhile, they need to be tight as if they aren't nice and tight they will pull away from the body, I learnt the hard way, twice........I have heard fellas putting Ultima batteries laying down under the back seat for the aux battery for fridge running thru a Cetek 250S with Anderson in back and one external.....
Rockauto in the USA is good for parts, cheaper and quicker than any Aust dealer with Western Filters the place to go for filters.............if you have your tranny serviced at 35 - 40K at a Tranny specialist it will last a hundred years compared to the stupid service regime that Jeep apply.
Tell the Jeep knockers to get stuffed as they know nothing................you will love it.
