Bought a set of the Milenco Grand Aero 3 mirrors for a quick trip down to Denmark and I have to say they are bloody brilliant.
No blow backs and I past a heap of trucks at full speed, they just wobbled a bit.
Very stable while traveling so you can actually see what is in the mirror not a blurred mess

Best $136 I have spent so far and very happy I didn't end up splashing out $800 for Clearviews.

how long do they take to fit
how long do they take to take them off and store them
whats your Hourly rate of pay

I went the Clearviews - and that was one of the considerations - the amount of time to fit properly and remove and store securely in between uses

Can't agree...sorry.

Ours were relatively stable but the screws kept working loose, particularly after corrugations. It came to the stage that every coffee break required the screw driver to check the screws were still there and then tighten.

I agree that the design is far better than most of the others but, once the screws start loosening, it's difficult to keep them tight. We tried everything we carried, including araldite.

(The screws around the actual mirror...not the attachments to the car.)

So....Clearviews for us!

Mate who's visiting has them and reckons they are great but the drivers door mirror on the Territory is getting loose and has some vertical movement in it which is not making him happy......................

Once I worked out exactly where they would sit it now takes me probably 1-2 mins tops to fit both mirrors (that includes walking around the car).
It would probably take me 30 seconds to take them off.

Best mirrors I have had as wel,l also the quickest to fit, do not scratch anything, swapped straight over from the BMW to the Prado.

Mirrors are like your Undies - a personal thing that fits your needs

dont get me wrong, at the time I thought they were great
I had already tried several different designs of mirrors - some with slight success, some not so
clip on, screw on, rubber straps, velcro straps, separate arm types (with ratchet strap to secure) - even had a bracket made for the bull bar so they sat there bolted down

I found that the 10 mins to get them from the shed, clean them and fit them
then the 10 mins to take them off and wrap them and put them back in the shed was annoying - with all types of mirrors

plus the cost of them having to be replaced when they fell off while driving (happened 3 times - different types of mirrors) in Gawd forsaken towns at premium prices
most expensive was in Esperance - $135 for a pair you can get off ebay for $40

when one fell off on North Coastal Hwy and ran over by a passing truck - I was over the add on mirrors

just explaining why I ended up with the Clearviews...................

I wasn't having my normal grumble but warning those who have them to keep an eye on the screws on the mirrors themselves.

The fit to the car mirrors is good.

They are good for highway driving but ours failed after some very rough corrugations....we were just lucky the glass bit didn't fall out altogether.

there really is good points and bad points about ALL towing mirrors
some vibrate
some dont
some no matter how much you try, they are never tight enough to stay on
some are too small
some are too big
some dont go out far enough to see
some scratch the drivers window
some dont
some, the straps scratch the paint on the door
some dont
some look like "dumbo ears"
some dont

I've had the Milencos for just over a year now, super quick to put on after the initial set up and easy to store when removed can still fold the main mirrors while they are on, I do find they vibrate a bit but not to bad have never blown in. Though do find they don't give me quite as much extension as my previous Aussie Truck mirrors.

My only beef with the Milenco's is related to my choice - not the mirror itself.

I bought the "Aero 3" model to suit a previous vehicle. I would now prefer the larger mirror area of the "Grand Aero". But that's my fault, not the mirrors'...

When the time comes, I will have no hesitation in upgrading from the Aero 3 to the Grand Aero.

I have the Aero 3. Only have done the 1 trip so far and it was good. Even though it was on the bitumen.
However I do understand where @bigcol is coming from.

I've got the grand aeros also.
Of all the 'screw/clip-on' style ones I've had they are the most stable and best connection, on both the 200 series and disco.
They are a screw on, so yes I check the screws every few days and tighten accordingly.

The only negative I had for them is the big bulbous shell they have. I'd prefer t that the mirror face sat more in line with the car mirror, rather than pushing closer to me. (But I also recognise if that were the case, they'd blow in on every truck passing). Personal preference only - after the first half hour driving I no longer noticed it.

I've just bought a set of the Grand Aero's which were for the Rodeo, but luckily they are a multi-fit as it looks like we will be in a new vehicle before we actually pick up the van, so I'm glad I hadn't gone down the clear view path as I would have been out a few $$$$ which I wouldn't have been able to recover.

The only other thing about the clear views is IMHO they are too big and bulky on a wagon style vehicle when not towing, don't seem too bad on a ute with a canopy/body on the back.

Anyway I went the Milenco's after getting pretty much glowing reports no matter where you asked, that and the bargain price of $118 delivered for the set how could you go wrong.

I have also tried many different mirrors types and prefer the Milenco Grand Aero 3 mirrors for the price. Would love a set of Clearviews but cannot afford them at the moment.
Overall - good value for money.
