One of my mates just picked up a 09 18-57-6. It's not an OB but the add says it's on an OB chassis with underslung axles and still only 1890kg....sounds a bit odd but a good buy. I sent him the link for this forum so hopefully we'll see him on here soon! He's also come from a wind up style camper but an American job with a slide out, plenty of room but he won't know himself now!

Cheers.

Just went around and checked out my mates van over a couple of beers and looks good! It is a on-road van on an outback chassis with on-road running gear, underslung axles and wind down legs, so maybe an option if your looking to save a few KG's. He's wrapped as you could imagine and he had the newer version of the HR WDH fitted, looks good and has a place to attach the anti-sway mechanism also.
I'm sure here be here soon as we were talking about free camping, he said "I need to learn a bit about setup for that etc" and I said "I told you mate, join this site, everything you need to know is here and great bunch of people". I'll tell him what I know but I don't know everything!
Going away with him in a couple of weeks for a weekenda!

Cheers.

Is there a difference in chassis thickness in 18s like there is in the 16s. Ie 4" for standard and 6" for ob. No stuffing around, straight into an 18.

I forgot to mention that the previous owner had a great bed fly made up. It's made from clear PVC, attached with a sail track mounted to the inside of the strip where the struts mount. The corners of the PVC simply velcro together and it all tucks up under the lid, then the privacy screen tucks up after that, so all permanently in position, and use which ever one you want, he also replaced the struts to deal with the extra weight.

Cheers.
