Hi All,

New to the forum so a bit of an intro.
Well we are a family of 5 and only started caravaning 2 years ago when we made the decision to do a "lap" In 2015. We settled on a new 2015 22.68-01 OB triple bunk pretty much stock standard. We picked it up early Feb and left mid March. 46 weeks and 40000km later we were back home, and it's hard to believe we have been back home for nearly a year. We sold the van when we got back and picked up a new Swan OB in Sept last year. Just spent a week down Portland way and all went pretty good so looking forward to the odd weekend away.

Welcome aboard @Tezza, that is the opposite of the direction most members have taken and it must be a big change for you all going from a 22' to a Swan. Still, you have done "the Lap",something a lot of us are still wanting to do. Lock forward to some pictures of your rig and trips.

Wow, that's a change but it makes sense as the van was bought for a specific set of experiences.
Now you're home and limited by time and distance, your needs change.

Good on you!

Yes it served its purpose.
We weighed around 5950kg all up full of water (160L), fuel (140L), food and grog and two kids school work (20-30kg). Averaged around 18l/100km, of the 40000km probably 5-10000km was without towing the van.
Axle weights on the Mazda were at max allowable, 1400kg front and 1800kg rear.
I think if we did it again we would get a base station with 4 fold up bunks in the rear. A bit more room to spread out and do school work etc.
Its about 1300kg lighter with the Swan.
