I had my maiden voyage today, the Calais held up to the challenge (like a true Holden does). Here are a couple of pictures of the first drive,

Here are a couple of pics of the first camp. My young bloke wanted to sleep in the bunk so I didn't worry about the rear bed. I also didn't bother with any of the shade items as I was in the shade by the time that I set up.

Thanks @cruza driver and yes it was warm. I set up as quick as I could and got the air conditioner ASAP then we hit the pool to let van get cool.

It was a good nights stay I just wish it could been longer.

That looks really great, nothing better than those first camps in a new rig and the Holden looks smicko as well, don't see a lot of cars towing now.
I hope you have a lot of fun.

Wow @Macca666 that looks fanbloodytastic to me... Seeing as my set up should look something similar... I would be grinning from ear to ear also... Just so impressed with how it looks and that I am really believing now that I can do this with what I have... Now just to decide and go with it...
I noticed in the couple of pics with the van attached the back end of the calais seemed to be a bit low and also that the hitch bars also appeared to be pointing downwards. Shouldn't they be a little higher in order to try and level that rear? Or was it just that you were heavy at the pointy end of the van?

I could possibly go up one more chain link to lift it a little bit more but I don't want to put on to much tension on the chains. Also I had the car lowered when I bought it with walkinshaw suspension so @Arkraider although it does sit low at the rear you would be surprised to see that it doesn't drop down a huge amount
