LC 200 series roof racks

Hi Guys,

Santa is giving the kids a kayak each for Christmas so we have decided to get a roof rack. We however don't want a full rack so are looking at a genuine roof rack. The kayaks are only 7ft long so we don't really need a full rack.

My question is can we attach a rhino or similar awning off these without to much modification?

Without a close look, you may struggle. Have you thought about the aero bars for Rhino or Thule? Similar look, goes slightly wider on the car and can fit accessories.

I agree with @crackacoldie as the awning will be in along way. With the wider bars you can make up a "L" shape bracket and mount the awning off there.

The price looks good though Thule are around $350-400

Guys at TJM told me you can use the Rhino Heavy Duty Bars on an LC200 - Was looking at a Black Widow awning, but did not want a full roof rack - just bars.

Tha genuine Toyota bar sets are rhino. I just bought the HD set (3 bars) genuine of Toyota $390 genuine Rhino of ARB or somebody else $525 !!!!

Yeah they are the same as Rhino HD bars. I like the hD bars because there's more options but the aero maybe more practical for occasional use. I would also look at the 3 bar option for mounting a awning as there's more support.
