I have been stalking this forum for quite a while. It was an excruciating 5 month wait! After a few hiccups it is finally here. We picked up on Friday afternoon, looked like someone had actually done a quality control check, unlike the swan that we had purchased from Sydney Jayco in 2011, hence the reason we went to Newcastle this time.
Kudos to Jayco Newcastle. They have a great team of workers and an amazing shop for accessories. We picked up a few goodies.
There were a few things wrong.
1-The floor colour was not what we ordered, so all the colours just blend in. I was happy when they added the Boston floor colour as I really didn't like the Mambo Cream. The colour they have put in is similar in colour to Mambo cream but without the dirty grey, so it isn't bad, but it needs a contrast. The colour that we received is not even a colour they offer for the 16'. We will be putting carpet down as there wasn't much we could do about it except not to take it, and we wanted it NOW!!!
2-The narrow cupboard next to the griller is missing. But apparently Jayco HQ can change things whenever they want and it doesn't matter if you have signed off on a plan. It gives even less bench space that the 16/49-4 already lacks.
3-We were suppose to get the angled cafe dinette, which is what they display on their website floor plan and in also in their brochures. Newcastle rang us when they received it to let us know that it had been made with the straight across design. The one that we specifically did not want, nor signed on, nor is the style advertised on their website or in the brochure. This was annoying however they offered to rebuild. We are sick of waiting so we agreed to take some $$ off to compensate for this.
4- The Privacy screens to the bed ends were not fitted. Because they have changed the lid AGAIN they have not made the screens yet. We will have to take it back when they have these.
The first two mentioned were surprises when we picked up. I love a surprise!
I can't wait to do some mods, get all the gear in and take her on her maiden voyage.
