My dual seat kayak is not set up for fishing. So, with nowhere to carry a rod I searched the web and came up with a seat that had two rod holder tubes on the backrest. I ended up buying a pair and am quite impressed with them. The rod holder unit can be removed, just two plastic clips, but they also came equipped with a zippered pouch which also clips on if needed (thinks: lunch while out there).

The last pic shows the seat in the centre position which means I can take the dual out solo, sit in the middle comfortably and the kayak will sit level for paddling with one person only.

Where do the fish you catch get stored?

Or are they small ones? (That's what I tend to catch)

They will end up in the front position where Mrs CR usually sits.. :p If she is there then there is a space behind the rear seat under elastic straps,

Small would be good, I normally just make sure they get enough food to grow bigger for other fishermen.

I like that idea @chartrock ... Might have to see if I can do the same to my existing seat (Saves drilling holes in the kayak to fit rod holders)

I have the same type of seats @chartrock, I bought 2 for $95 on ebay and picked up a bag which clips onto the back of the seat with 2x rod holdersfrom BCF but I usually stick my rods in the floor drain holes easier to get at.....I have aplastic rod holder that you can mount in the body but haven't been game enough to drill a hole yet.

Anaconda had them for $109 although a one time special they were $80.
Damn.... Wish they had them when I got my seat from there :(

picked up a bag which clips onto the back of the seat with 2x rod holders from BCF
Thanks @Drover ... Just found them on the BCF page.... No need to wait for postage and at $19.99 can't complain (Unless they don't fit the Anaconda brand seat :o )

They should @dagree, those sort of seats seem to be all the same except name/price tags, the bag just hooks up to the extra clips on the seat back.

Your original "seat" (thats what you called it? Yeah?) looks, um, missing entirely. The new one looks much better; and dare i say closer to the definition of "seat"

I have a small self inflating seat pad that slides in under my seats base; makes for a much comfy'er ride.

My yak has Richie rod holders, sounder ram mount, and a rocket laucher behind the seat.

The Richies and Ram have bases that are permanently glued and screwed to the deck both sides at arms reach, and the rod holders themselves, and sounder mount attached to the bases.

I can troll a swimmer or jig from a rod in the rocket launcher, and work a lure or bait our both sides all at the same time. The rocket launcher also has the landing net as well. (very important. Very small mesh for my fish). The sounder is like a TV for fisherman; something to watch while your "between" fish.

Its all theatrical. Fishermans smoke and mirrors. None of this helps to catch any fish ... but I certainly look awesome not catching any fish.

It takes the crowds focus off the empty catch bag, and the visual helps to convince the Princess im doing something constructive.

I like it @Crusty181, a Hobie with pedals instead of paddles to leave all arms for fishing. Would love one of them but Mrs CR would not release the couple of $K and she is happy to come along for the ride occasionally. But you sure are well set up, there is no excuse for not catching fish. :fish2: But I am sure I could think of one when necessary. :noidea:

Geez @Crusty181 you've got more rod holders and gadgets on there than I had on my 18' runabout... All you need now is the epirb, VHF etc

But I did enjoy not having to paddle it ;)
