Well.....we are back!
It has been a tough few months deciding what to replace the 14.44/4 Expanda with.
Both the kids now have their own cars, tents and holiday ideas so we decided to go for a smaller pocket rocket!
Settled on the JPod Sport for our next bed on wheels.
The Sport offered a decent slide out kitchen c/w sink water pump and 45lt tank. Also comes with small fridge, awning, racks front tool box, 100ah battery and a decent internal fit out.
Fair few mods planned including TV, sound system also custom tent set up similar to the TVan. The tent that is supplied with it is just too big and cumbersome.
Really looking forward to the change and a another challenge.
Picking it up Friday week.

Made the trip down to Canberra to pick up the van.
Really happy with the purchase and service from the dealer.
Been tinkering over the weekend.
Fitted a Fusion radio and speakers.
Ordered a few other bits online to hopefully fit this weekend.
Certainly a lot smaller than the Expanda. Comes with a good sized bed and enough electrics to make it a very comfortable van. Windows and roof vent are nice and large to let plenty of light and breeze in.
Looking forward to having an outside kitchen.
Really excited about this little pod.

Beautiful Burrum Heads QLD
Wow would love one for fishing trips over to Fraser, you will now be able to find some great places off the beaten track where grey nomads fear to tread, enjoy

Weighs around 800kg @rags, can get lighter versions that have less options.
Prado forgot it was behind a few times :bolt::bolt:
The box campers are a great looking rig. I did look at them however the Jpods are larger and have the full opening rear door which won me over.
Looking forward to sneaking down a few of those narrow tracks and squeezing into some of the smaller camp sites @DRW.

Here is a picture of the stainless kitchen @halbster ....Fairly basic, sink with plumbed water, fold out shelf for gas cooker and cutlery drawer.
It is in at Express annexes getting a bit of custom work done at the moment. The tent arrangement that comes with it is too large for what we need. We are getting a canvas annexe made. Will post some pics when I get it back in a few weeks.

Little pocket rockets...Same height and width as the120 Prado.
Good sized bed plus ample room at the rear. The annexe we are getting made will give us a fair amount of extra space. It will attach to the van via sail tracks so it will provide a fully sealed and enclosed area.
Picking it up from the awning company tomorrow then off for a week of holiday’s.
First stop Walcha on top of the great divide. Overnight temps of -7deg❄️.
Will post some picks of the set up and custom annexe .

Thanks @achjimmy ... will post some pics when I open it up tomorrow.
Here are some pics of the custom annexe
Fantastic job from Express Annexes. Aussie canvas. Much better set up than the tent supplied.Doubles the living area.
They fitted a roof bow so you can close the rear door without water pooling.

Great set up we are currently looking at this jpod but the tent it comes with was putting us off to much work . After seeing this it’s back in the running with a custom tent ,

Sorry for the late reply.
@Inge we payed $1750 for the annexe. I reckon that is a great price when you see the amount of work involved fabricating it.
The annexe doubles the size of the van.
Make sure when getting the annexe that they fit sail track to the sides of the van in lieu of the press studs that Jayco use for their tent. Makes for a more watertight and stronger fit.
I agree with your views re the factory tent...next to useless. We have not even taken it out of the box.
If you live around Sydney you are more than welcome to pop around and have a look.
