Jayco's Folding Dining Table Needs a Redesign.

We have a brand new 16.49.1 and the lounge are is great but the table that has the fold in it on one side is super flimsy. You can barely put your cereal bowl on it before it start to bend due to the weak, cheap joint Jayco installs. Has anyone had any luck beefing this up? I was thinking maybe a few drawer slides installed underneath.... any ideas at all?

Don't have that table but had the large one with dog leg! My advice ditch it. They make a crap table. We wanted to upgrade our last one in our van ( 16.49.1 2007 ) but jayco wanted $450... An option we looked into was getting a cabinet maker to make a new top for the base. It's a shame that we have to do these things when we pay so much for our vans to start with. Good luck with it.

Have a look what i did to my old 2004 16-49-1 i hated the table setup in it as well, it just had a large table on a dogleg stand = very wobbly http://www.expandasdownunder.com/threads/altered-layout-for-a-16-49-1.2776/

Couldnt agree more,we took a leaf out of Laras book and bought one from Bunnings before we headed To W.A.
from Adelaide made life a lot better did notice the lack of bruising on wifes legs.and the extra space while watching a dvd of Mrs Browns Boys.
gotta love that outback.

Yep, we took a leaf out of Lara's book also and ditched the table. Bought a fold-out table from Bunnings. A lot better.
