Hi all

just about to bite the bullet and sign up for a new 17.56-2 OB finance all approved just had to find a dealership that has one in stock as perth has none we needed to go east to get one. My query is ive heard of a few issues with leaking roofs and roof lifters that fail. not to concerned with things going wrong as long as they can be fixed but we live in the north west about 16 hrs from a jayco dealer how do we get things fixed under warranty with no service agents can jayco send items up for me to fit? has anyone had a similar experience. also does the Outback come with underslung axles or the simplicity setup standard? and what is the solar provision and is it standard or optional on the outback

cheers Ash

Welcome aboard Ashley and congrats on being our 1500th member :cheer2:

I'm sure Jayco will find a way to sort the warranty issues on way or another

Dual axle Outbacks are normally underslung unless you order Simplicity as an option, Standards are not underslug unless ordered that way, Single axle Outbacks aren't underslug (unless ordered) apparently different axle set up, found that out the hard way.

Have heard suspension options are changing for 2014 so best check with the dealer or speaker to the factory direct, (so dealers are usless on upgrade and options)

Hey there Ash I live in the pilbara and have a warranty on a bubble on the front lid. At my own expense I have to travel the 1100km one way trip to Perth to get it repaired. Nice one hey.
Welcome

I suppose that is the unfortunate aspect of living a distance from the dealer. Its not rocket science to fit one, I wonder if they would let you fit it, as long as you wanted to of course.

Hi mate

I would be a careful as I live northern surburbs in perth and my 16.49 3 march 2013 van has been back for warranty work 7 time and needs to go again. Jayco are good that they will do any warranty work but its at your expense to take it back to be repaired and they don't want to know about compensation or travel cost as specially as I had so many problems. One thing I will say lay on the beds before you buy as we had problems with the mattress.I noticed at Perth 4WD show the Expandas had the same mattress as our when new but none of them were folded down to try as they know there's problems with being uncomfy.

From what I understand solar provision is just a wire running from your battery to the roof with a junction box on top. I got it deleted to due to height restriction, and the height of the junction box is not included in the stated height in the specs.

In relation to the warranty stuff I'd talk to the dealer, you may be able to negotiate something with regard to being compensated. You can only ask.

Two new bed end covers
Bed frame on front jamming on body
New window seal drop out
Roof had to be resealed as started pealing
Front door lock packed up
Airconditioning cabinet on one side delaminates when put on heat
Two new mattress as to uncomfy
Rust to chassis where they have mounted pipe and cables and hit with drill
Rust on water tank brackets
Bed trim not fitting correctly
Pump tap leaked every time you used the sink tap and shower
Front lower section of van had to have new alloy trim and be sealed as was to short and left hole on each end corner
Now needs to go in again for front bed end canvas as stitching coming apart leaving a 3 cm hole

Not bad for only 5 trips and the furthest being kalbarri
