Jayco Swan Outback 2007 Roofmount Airond???

Hi all,

We have an outback swan with 2 x 80 w solar pannels on the roof with awnings all round.

We want to put a Dometic 2200 air cond up there as well, what do you think.?

I thought roofs with aircon on the roof were reinforced as part of factory install.

Hi Brad,

Our Swan is a 2007 model. I believe the newer models have roof support for aircond from factory. However im told with my model you can put a H frame first then install the air cond but it may put the winding mechanism under a bit of stress from extra weight. Thats my concern. Wondering if any one else has a swan or flamingo with roof mount air cond.

I think from memory the roof weight limit is 100kg but idea be checking with Jayco, another option worth looking into would be the Trumar ducted unit its designed to go in cupboards or under beds etc.
