Hi to everyone.

We are new to the caravan camping scene and would like to intoduce ourselves. We are currently awaiting our new 2013 Jayco expanda 20-63.1 OB which we are told could be delivered within the next 2 weeks and yes very excited. We have loaded our van with options which we think is enough, However there are bound to be things we have forgot. We are looking forward to meeting the campers alike on the road as this is all new to us.
The tow vehicle of choice is the Landrover Discovery 4 so hopefully this will be a good choice, after being told our last vehicle would not pull a full height van of this size the desicion to upgrade was easy. We will be putting some pics on as soon as our new van arrives and look forward to catching up with you with all your options and travel experiences.

Welcome Discovery. :welcome:
Well, you don't have long to wait, and you'll avoid most of the feelings of good natured envy some of us experience, by your choice of van and tug. Is this your first van?
Looking forward to you pics and regular contributions.

Welcome Discovery, sounds like a really great setup. Two weeks away is not too long to wait so post up some pix when you can and let us know a bit more about yourselves, where you are from, what trips you plan etc. :cheer2:

Hey Guys
Thank you for the warm welcome, We are starting to enjoy this lifestyle already and we not even got the van yet lol. We have been in Australia now for 4 n half years from the UK and never camped. We enjoyed tent camping so much after being in OZ just a few months,We have never owned a caravan in our lives so we are real green. we have only traveled as far as Exmouth from camp at Coral Bay and south as far as Margaret River when we decided that the Australian camping scene is just something else. We have only managed to venture along the WA coast up until now. Now our next trip once the Van arrives as a tester could be Essperance before we pack up and head to Gold Coast QLD over the top of this superb country with me ,The missis, daughter nearly 18 and son nearly 11.
We are looking forward to meeting people whom also live life and enjoy what natural beutys are right here in Australia.
As we are so green to the caravan scene i will put a list of options which we have added to our van and like i say i am sure to have missed something important but you guys know your stuff and i will be glad to hear from any of you as to what we may need but dont have.

Just wondering if they have given you all the info such as brake controllers and you have heard about weight distribution hitches (if you want one) etc.

Hey Brad
yeah I have had an electronic brake controller fitted to the tow tug made by red arc so hope this is good enough. As for weight distribution hitch no one has actually mentioned it to me. Is this a required part mate.

No, it is not a required piece of equipment and you will get varying opinions on this site.
All I can say is to have a read up on it. Cause if you do choose to purchase one, then Jayco will help you set it up properly when you pick up the van.

How's it going Discovery? We have just ordered the same van 20.63-1 today and are looking to sign up for a discovery 4 in the next day or two. Which Discovery did you get! We are looking at TDV6 or maybe SDV6....
Any things we should add to our van order?
