Hi, I have a 2010 Jayco startcraft with the L shaped lounge. I really want to convert the table to a spare bed. Has anyone used the bed conversion kit? I've been looking at alternatives like buying a new gas lift table but its expensive and may not be suitable anyway once its fitted. I'm not a tool person but I'm happy to give things a go.

Any ideas?

I'm sure there are several threads which cover this topic.

Essentially, it seems to depend on whether your existing lounge cushions can be used for a bed....some are curved, some are flat.

If flat, will they fit over the space needed?

Apart from that, it's a matter of cutting the right size ply and, I think, a sort of ridge to keep the panel in place.

I'd ensure that you don't need to replace all the cushions first.....but do a search and you'll probably get the answer.

I'm about to take delivery of a Journey 17.55.8 and will use the table on the L shape lounge which already has a lip/ledge on the front edge, as the infill with an extra pair of fold down legs, and will just cut a cheap foam mattress to fit the area.
Dealer suggested this as the bed converter was quite exy for what it is.,and I wanted to keep the contoured cushions. The young fella will only be sleeping there for a year or so before he opts for a swag like his big brother and most of their mates.

Thanks for the replies. The cushions are flat, so my options are to buy a piece of high density foam to fit over the table area or pull the l-shaped cushions around to fit the bed. I've seen fold down legs at Carac, for a bed conversion. I was hoping to use the table as the base. Its on a pedestal so I was thinking I'd need a shorter pipe.
