Great spots from Holden Man but they wont fit in with your timetable, most of them would require more than a 4 hour stop to appreciate them.

Kronosaurus Korner looks fantastic on the web site, we'll be going right past that in May and I know a little boy who will love that (not to mention his old man). Will have to check out the Lava Tubes as well! Thanks for the heads up!

Hi Drewy,
Yep it was a highlight, Kronosaurus Corner is a very high quality display, not what you would expect from a little town in the middle of nowhere. It's a real credit to Richmond. At undara we stayed in the rail carriages (pre panda) which was a great experience. Take a good led torch each for the tunnels.

Hmm ok, we we are probably going to have more like 6 hours free over the day.

Will be stopped between 10am and 4pm so yes not the most amount of time but a whirlwind at least :)!

Hi Ex, Are you able to include longreach or is it a bit out of your way, the Qantas Museum is very good, you can see the 747's tail pretty much before you see longreach. The 747 and 707 is the highlight, but learning about how Qantas started was a real treat. We enjoyed it more than the Stockmans hall of Fame. Boys got a bit bored going through that. Best part of winton was Age of Dinosaurs and Lark Quarry. Links below. The boys still talk of the dinosaurs out there.

There is so many things to do and see up there as day trips.
From cairns I did a day trip down as far as paronella park then worked out across the Atherton table lands and up till I got level with Cairns and cut back again. The Atherton tablelands is beautiful. Mita Mita falls, the strangler figs, small townships to stroll through.
All just wonderful!!
And then going up has just as many more sites to visit. Very jealous.
Anyway, drop into a hotel and grab a handful of one day tour brochures. You will get a mass of ideas from that.
