Ideas for fabricating and mounting a generator box.

I've bought a new 2kva inverter generator so that we can free park with a few comforts. I want to mount a generator box to the A frame. I want it to be lockable, light, waterproof and made of aluminium preferably. Has anyone out there done this? I'm thinking of maybe buying a pre-made toolbox. Is this the way to go? Also any other hints or tips about the use of generators in free parks or the mounting & storage of them on your expandas would be great.

I will dig out a photo in he next few days of how I plan to do mine, once I relocate the spare. The idea I saw was on a van at the Adelaide caravan show, and the box included a slide for the generator.

The Honda 2kva will fit in the front boot of an 18' if that's any help.

Hi Burnsy. Have you considered options for mounting a 15 hp outbourd on the A frame of a 16-49 outback?

Haven't thought about it mate but it wouldn't be a problem!
