Hi all,
I just managed to talk myself into buying an Ipad 4th Generation, as my old tablet has lost it's recharging cable.

I have been looking for some apps for the iPad, and have downloaded a few interesting apps.

What Apps would you suggest and why?

Has anyone downloaded the Hema or Mud Maps onto their iPad? Are they any good?

Great stuff Mick we have the wiki camps which is all types of free camps, huts and caravan parks Australia wide that people upload and give advice on what the facilities are like etc and another good one is show me the loo for the kiddies as they when they need to go they need to go and also fuelfinda which gives you all fuel station locations within a certain radius But the list is endless.

Pocket weather is good.
Are you only interested in knowing about apps that relate to camping?

Brad, I'm pretty much after any app that is good to use.

I will intend to use the iPad a lot when out and about, so ideas on apps that are useful in the bush or on the road would be great, such as the ones that chOOka77 suggested.

Hema map app is great, not cheap but works a treat. And having it loaded on my iphone as well, i can look up anywhere in Aus. where ever i am as soon as someone mentions a place of interest.
Must say that if your ipad isnt wifi 3g, forget hema maps though

i've been using my iPhone as a 3G hotspot and connecting the iPad up. Works well.

Yeah, I didn't realise that I needed the 3G phone for the GPS, just thought they all had GPS built in. I can get a Bluetooth GPS receiver for the Ipad for about $120, apparently they will do the job quit well, with 10 times / second refresh rate for satellite tracking.

I use the Nokia as a portable hotspot, which is why I didn't go the 3G version, didn't think I needed it.
