Well, as some of you know we have moved on from the Expanda and into a new Starcraft. After much to-ing and fro-ing and a bit of persuasion and help from @relgate we have gotten ourselves into a late 2014 build 22.68-1 Outback.

Below is the only photo I have at the moment and we are chomping at the bit to break it in! The new van lives in our shed 200kms away and we are to get away very soon! The extras it has are:
  • Triple Bunks
  • External Shower with a light
  • Full Annexe
  • Tap outside for washing machine (weren't able to put it in the ensuite as it was already built)
  • Water filter at sink
  • Drifter Console
  • Extra solar panel (240W in total)
  • 182L fridge upgrade
  • Bed converter on dinette
  • Stone Gaurd
We are stoked with our purchase and have only good things to say about the guys at Jayco Townsville. If anyone is going to buy a new/used van from there, give me a yell as I have vouchers for parts and accessories up to $1500 and would love to help someone out!

Great work @Hubble80
it must be taking significant will power to let it sit in a shed so far away! The wait must be excruciating. Glad you seem to have got what you wanted. I think your gonna love it! Have you got beds worked out for everyone yet?

Sounds awesome. (Wonder why we don't get those vouchers over here?)

Looks like a beauty well done!

But 200 clicks away that's got to be torture?

Thanks for the comments guys. Bit tricky being 200kms away from it! Can't just pop out and tinker with it!!!

Beds are all sorted, got the bed converter in the dinette and PortaCot will go on that for a while longer. Kids are excited as about the bunks!

I am actually surprised how different it felt behind the 200. Seemed more stable than the Expanda, however it was windy when we bought it back down the coast and it is a much bigger sail!!! Seriously considering airbags in the back though, just to stop that little bounce it has.

Fair bit of weight difference. Did you check the actual ball weight? Mine was VERY heavy so im moving the batteries to over the wheel arch

Even though it was empty except the water tanks, it seemed to weigh the rear of the tug down less than the Expanda. I didn't end up getting the 3rd water tank, so maybe that is the difference in weight.

I think you nailed it. The extra tank is up the front

We looked at one of these on our Gold Goast trip over xmas ...... the van was gloriously enormous, but the annex seemed to be gigantic

I should find a shed 200km away to store mine van in .... having it sitting staring at me on the opposite side of the factory every day, whispering "mod me Crusty, i need mods" ... is not the makings of a productive work environment.

Very nice mate!!!
I have also being toying with the idea of airbags, I have a WDH that works well but there still is a little sag and a little bounce. I had airbags in the triton and they were great! I'm trying to find out if someone in town installs them, maybe ironman? Let us know how you go.

Well we had our first weekend in the new tank. Wifey is stoked with how much storage we have to the point she won't shutup about it! We are all impressed with the beds and kids love the bunks!

Still trying to get into the niche of what each light switch does in the middle of the night when the kids need to go. Our next adventure is going to be a weekend up at Eungella, then Easter holidays down to the Hunter Valley and back up the coast road with a few stops down and back. Can't wait!
