The wait is taking ages for our new 17:56-2 to arrive, we don't have a date yet but they did say end of August.
Waiting on the phone call :)
This our first ever caravan , we are family of five, my hubby and 3 kids under 10 and I.
I'm used to packing heaps when we go and stay in cabins or hotels.
Do u still bring luggage as such such and store it in the car or does everything go in the caravan. The one wardrobe u get is that suppose to fit all the clothes for the family.
Where else can u store them and how ? Is there some sort of clothes system :)
We will be going away for a month towards end of year :)
:help:

My wife stored in the cupboard near the bed. Mine were in the 3 over head cupboards at the front. Our 4 year old were in the draw under the dinette and our 3 year olds were stored in the 2 rear high cupboards. Kids coats were in the cubby hole at the foot of the top bunk.

But it does fill fast, being tidy helps to make it fit.

Leave the bags at home, depending on where your going but you really don't need a lot of clobber usually, thongs and a pair of runners and about 3 days of clothes is more than enough most times. With a tribe though the girls usually need a trailer load while the fellas are happy with 2 changes..............much to my wifes horror. Always have a jacket though and to keep your gear looking relatively ironed, the old sailors trick of rolling your clothes up then packing them , works every time and saves space. Try not to take stuff that needs hanging up. For the first couple of runs you will find what you need and what you don't.
Bottom line is no more than 3 days.
Don't forget to pack a calico bag for the laundry and pegs.
Have fun.

Picked timber sheet from 'all board dist'. In bayswater Vic and fitted couple of shelves to cupboard using jayco corner blocks. Laminate timber sheet closest I could get.View attachment 23218 View attachment 23217

this is my modified cupboard, that i use tubs for clothes in, makes it easy to load and unload from house.
you can view attachment, think I've done it right for u

We had that same model and also had 3 kids under 10.
We had the wardrobe set up as a pantry so no clothes in there!!!
We found there was heaps of room in the 17 and had one or two of the overheads empty (or full of rubbish)
Mine and the wifes clothes were in the cupboard next to the front bed (one shelf each)
We never did it, but thought we would use the overheads for smalls etc on a longer trip.
Niether of us used bags, but just loaded up straight into the van. I would leave basic stuff (shorts, t shirts, thongs and ugg boots, a jacket) in the van permanently
For the kids we used those cheap '2 dollar shop' zip up bags and stashed them in the space between the rear mattress and side wall, on top of the rear boot (you'll see what I mean when you get the van). The oldest was on the top bunk and kept his bag on top of the fridge. We never felt the need to get more organised, but for a longer trip we thought we would use the overhead, rear boot and draws under the second dinette for clothes.
Trial and error will sort you out...

Have fun
