The built in Suburban gas/electric unit itself is around $900 (cheaper online).
Installation requires body modification, gas work and obviously plumbing and electrical.
I'd guess $1500-$2000.
There are of course cheaper options others can comment on.

When we where looking second hand it seems a lot to put one in afterwards. If for shower only there are a few external systems that would be more cost effective.
We got ours installed when built still around $1400 I think with external shower.
Yes we could boil a kettle for the dishes and it would be cheaper :) although we looked at it for free camping later.

I spoke with Jayco Adelaide the other day to ask that very question, and it was going to cost about $2,240 from memory for the Suburban gas/electric system. (You may need a second water tank installed as well, which will cost more on top.)
[edit: I checked my scribbles and it was actually $2,320]

Really depends what you want it to do. If you just want it to fill the sink to wash dishes then some of the electric ones work OK for the little use they get and only cost a couple hundred dollars.

If you need to shower etc with it then you are going to have to spend $1000 plus.
