Spotted this setup on the back of a truck running through Canungra today.

The picture of the truck (Mrs CR snapped with the phone as I overtook him) does not show the full picture. His front end had been smashed, he probably rear ended someone or collided with a wall. The van on the back must have added extra load with the sudden stop and bent the frame.

Not me, sir!

I was nowhere near Canungra!

What an idiot...no wonder we worry about weights.

Bugga, I've looked at a lot of ute's with vans on back and a lot of them have standard springs and are not far off bump stops, even with WDH fitted and when mine tapped the stops I fitted new springs quick smart, stays well clear. Of course it's just part of the problem as weve discussed elsewhere.
Be so disheartening to have it happen.

Just read this again and realised I was being harsh in my comment about overloading.

Obviously, a ding incident rather than an overloading issue.

I stand corrected and abashed!

I think you were right the first time @Dobbie ,
Ali tray, Ali tool boxes either side, and another 1 (or maybe 2) behind the axle
looks like frame work for a boat on the roof,
plus thats not a small van by the looks of it

I would hazard a guess he would have been flying sooo soo close to the max loading

@Drover is on the money, rear suspension was not able to handle or help in this situation

some one pulled out in front of him............?
didnt quite stop at the lights.........?

Sorry to resurrect this thread, I'm bored.

To me it looks like there is no towbar on the ute or rego plate on the van. Probably on their way to the auctions.

I think that is the side of the tow bar below the tool box and a strap hooked to the tongue.
