I fell for the new McHitch but when I spoke to the dealer I found that you have to weld a bracket on if you want to use a WDH. My Jeep does not need one but tows nicer with one. I am uncomfortable about welding on such a critical area. So it scared me off

When I fitted our auto McHitch there was no need for any welding, everything just bolted on. The WDH I used with the Pajero was a EAZ LIFT which I got from McHitch. Which again just bolted on, no welding needed.
I suggest you get in touch with Joe at McHitch in Lithgow and have a chat, he is most helpful. I would be very suspicious of the dealer telling you have to weld anything to fit a McHitch. The McHitch is a really good secure hitch with little vibration.
Have looked at Auto Mchitch as well, a local guy sells them and tows with them himself
Demonstrated to me onsite, no welding required, though with WDH there is rollers to set up on the bars , see the videos on the Mchitch site.
