after many attempts to get in here due to not having a clue what i am doing finally made it ,We just bought the 12ft outback expanda exchanging the great little finch we had had for the past 3 years Getting to old to wind it up :)_anyone got any info on them to pass on... ,And what do the numbers mean that i see on here such as 17.56.1 mean ?We have had it a week and its not left the drive yet,Had anderson plug fitted and now has a battery conected ,intend to get a couple of 12 volt plugs fitted outside so we can have a shower rigged up with pump ,apart from that its life as normal .
There is just the 2 of us with 9 grandkids ,but they can sleep in the Annex now :)Hope to take off heading to Victoria end of thee month on its maiden voyage ,So any help before then woud be good
Look forward to your advice

Welcome Frank.
The numbers reflect the model number of your van.
If you take a look on the Jayco website and download the expanda brochure you will see all the model numbers for the expandas.
Not sure how to go back and find the previous years model numbers though.
Keep asking those questions!! You will find someone on line who can answer your questions around here.

Welcome Frank.
Beats winding for sure.
There were two 12's in 2008 I recall. The 12.37-1 (buffet unit opposite table) and 12.37-2 (lounge opposite table).
The numbering system is pretty arcane, but basically your van specs are:
Body length 12'6"
Travel length 17'
Extended length 20'
Tare is about 1165kgs
Towball weight 130kg
Did you buy thru a dealership? If so you should be safely ready to roll. Otherwise I'd get it checked over at Jayco before you head off.
There'll be plenty of help on this site. Just follow the threads.
Hope we can improve the weather here for you by the time you get to Victoria.

G'day and welcome Frank, from another grandfather. I'm not sure of the numbers on a 12' but my 14-44-3, the 14 indicates 14' long, the 44 is the same thing in metric, ie 4.4 metres and the 3 indicates the model in that range. The 3 says the van is equipped with a shower and toilet. The outback model is a semi off road version, making it a van that is a bit more capable off the tarmac and on the dirt road. Hope you enjoy your van.

that answers it mine has the buffet bench opposite .Getting a mate up who is smarter than me to see how easy it would be to change the buffet to an extra lounge seat..hoping to head east to Melbourne end of month but would like to see how things work 1st ,
W boughgt it from Caravanland same place we got the finch .On closer inspection when the love wore off :) we can see that its got a few dings .but Jayco certainly smart them up so no complaints ,considering how the little finch looked on hand over :)

Welcome Frank,
They aren't built too bad considering.
I drag around 4 kids and the wife and not much has broken or come loose yet.
Make sure you keep a screw driver handy and you shouldn't have too many issues.
Enjoy mate the van looks great.

Cheers
