16' Series Heron 2.2 not getting cold

Hi all.
Just after a bit of guidance. Just got back from short trip and the aircon didn't fire up at all. turned into a hot 6 days of 35+ degree temps. Can hear all the aircon components working, but no cold air. I'm thinking it may need a regas, but the gas that it requires is no longer available. any suggestions would be handy, as a quick phone call to the local aircon man suggests I need to get a whole new unit.

if new unit is the case. can I slip a bigger unit (Heron 3) whilst im at it

Go outside and check that the outdoor fan is blowing air out of the vent. We had a similar experience and turned out fan was jammed up with red dust. So once freed and inox'd it all worked fine.

The heron's are a r407c gas from memory. Still widely available and most decent refrigeration contractors will have a bottle of it handy.

There should be a plate on it that will tell you which gas is in it

Leave it running for a couple of hours, a mate of mines did the same thing and all it needed was a good run
something about the gas settling.

The intakes for the Heron on our 14.44 are just behind the wheels, make sure they are not clogged up.
