Hi Guys,

I kept if very simple (matches my brain) by using the privacy screen as a template for cutting the trap. Got the wife to sew hem border on tarp.

Got a do it yorself eyelet kit from Big W. Put eyelets in tarp where press studs were on privacy screen. Looped small elastic through eyelet so I could put press stud in elastic loop before clipping onto hood cover. (see photos)

I also put eyelet on bottom corners to hold down the same as privacy screen.

Tarp just sits on top of bed canvas when not required. Only takes 2 minutes to pull down if rain appears. This was as a result of the bedding getting wet on our first trip which has not happened since I made these.

I look at and spoke to some canvas places and concluded that besides being a little costly it ment that you had to have one or the other up at one time. We wantaed something cheap and easy and quick to set up and it works

Put Eyelets in to line up with Press studs on screen and made small elastic loops

Wanderer - I just want to say thanks for this design. after seeing your solution to water coming in the sides I have made up my own set today. They were very easy to make and look like they will do the job well. Not tested yet, but given its raining almost daily nsw coast at the moment I reckon we will give them a workout very soon! And I am hoping I can get rid of the wet bed ends!

now wanderer, do you have another brilliant idea to fix leaking through/around hardlids resulting in pooling of water on canvas roof? I am trialling ideas from another thread on this website but I thought I'd check if u have encountered this given the beauty with this solution.

Finally got around to joining up after reading many beaut ideas on here, like wanderer's bed end tarp mod... great stuff! I just finished making a set up myself as we were sick of wet bedding too.
Thanks for sharing great ideas!
