Help with front door lock

Just came back from a weekend away and went to unlock the front door and the key won't go into lock. The door is locked and normally when the door is locked the key barrel is in the vertical position. But my door lock is horizontal position. Does anyone know to unlock door or gain entry to van when the roof is down?

The salesman advised my son to get a nail file, file it down to fit into the slot and turn it to vertical. It worked for him.

Good luck. We got locked out of our van the same way. Key can be removed when in horizontal position but you can't put it back in. We had to get a Jayco mobile service van to climb in through boot and use a screwdriver to open it as its a triple lock.

our lock seems to be a bit dodgy, just turn the slot by putting key in a bit and turning it to correct position

just ordered a new lock from caravan plus. $68 for the lock and $23 for new barrel compared to another company that wanted $105 for the same lock plus another $33 for a barrel.
