Hi, we have just finalised negotiations on a 2011 Expanda 16:49:3OB and couldn't be happier. Will be picking up in the next week or so, I'm getting brake controller etc. fitter to our Navara.

first van for us, we have had an off road camping trailer when the kids were younger, wanting a few more comforts now.

We are grateful to this forum as it was extremely helpful in deciding what to look for and a great resource for complete novices like us. I have a few queries which ill post in the other areas.

Cheers
Rob

Welcome Rob to the forum. I too was brand new to caravanning last year in September when we purchased ours but had had no towing experience at all so it really was everything is brand new to me.
I have learnt so much from this forum and everyone is happy to help. Enjoy those extra creature comforts and go the 16s :)

Cheers Brad, we're locking in. 2 week trip in June & September at the moment Before a large trip later in the year. I expect ill have a number of Q's when I receive the Van. I think I'm going to do a weekend away somewhere close to get use to it. I will post up a picture hopefully next week.

Thanks all for the welcome.
Hi Tayla: We have a 16&19yo daughters and an 18yo son who will all come on trips but rarely all together as the two oldest are at university and my son in particular is quickly finding out the delights and distractions that entails.
Hi Andrea: we would appreciate any suggestions for nearby spots, the more rural&rustic the better. Will give us an opportunity to learn about the van.

I have booked us in for some one on one towing tuition with RACQ before we venture out.

cheers
Rob
