(Bumped.....from another post)
Well, we never got away.........no Wivenhoe Dam this weekend..
Weather is terrible here at the moment and it is not getting any better.
We were still keen to go today, so I was putting on the WDH Hayman Reese. I had the chain on the pigtail bit and when I went to lift it up......bang......clean snapped the pigtail. Well guess what. That was the end of the trip. So unpacked everything and we are home for the long weekend.
Yesterday's radar has a story.

Same chain Link.

thats impressive.
not that age can be blamed, but how old is the kit? Not brand new was it?

11 months old. I gave it some force which you can expect there is a lot of resistance and weight. I have always kept it on the same chain link. But I was not expecting that to happen.
Cheers

I'd question wether wdh is even needed on a ute anyway mate given that they are front heavy and built for heavy loads in the tub in the first place - should have just gone without it...

Agree, nothing like a bit more weight on the back of a ute to make it more stable. Don't use one myself on the Prado, have done 15,000k's + and not a problem at all. Not light on the front and no uneven feeling, especially in the horrible wet we are having atm. Was up at Hervey Bay but came back early as was worried about the storms coming. Glad we did, absolutely crap weather.
