Picked the Van up yesterday. I opted for internal and external speakers. I was shocked when they were showing me through the Van and they said that i had 2 options. Inside only or inside and outside together... What about if i just want the outside speakers going?

They looked at me like i was an idiot and that it was the most ridiculous thing they'd ever heard when i asked them why i can't switch to outside speakers only.

Has anyone else been able to mod it so they can choose either of these three options?

Me too.
At the end of the day, the wires will all be going into the back of the stereo unit.
Does your stereo unit have a balance and fader option?
If it does then the stereo is capable. You just need to fix the wiring.

It's the pioneer head unit. Yep it has fader.

So I can just fade the internal speakers out. Leaving just the externals. That will solve the problem.

Yep - standard setup.

I did however pull the head unit out and swap wiring over on mine so I have outside only or both together - personal preference really because with small kids I want to shut off internal music at the flick if a switch when it's quiet / sleep time for them.

Fader control does the rest unless you install another switch to cut signal to the alternate speakers...
