Gunning Fireworks Spectactular 12/9/15 - Anyone going or been before

I was thinking about taking the caravan down (apparently you can camp at the showground where the display is being held). One hour of fireworks that I'm sure the kids (and parents) will love.

Anyone going or been before?

Bugger! probably wont have the van back buy then, as it hasn't left here yet, then again only an 1.5 hrs. for me so could day trip it.

Great little spot Gunning, good cafes, there's a small free camp in the main street northern end next to pool, but ya'd have to be early to get in there.

I contacted the organiser about camping, from below you can set up in the showground. great for those with little rugrats, that will be able to watch from caravan site.

Hi Scott.
Officially (council regs) no but at least 2 RV clubs park inside the day prior. Caravans / RV have their own area. Not on the arena bounday of course.
We hire the venue for the 5 hours of the event and do not provide camping services, showers etc. We do place extra bins and toilets.
So I am completely cool if you camp inside. Entry is $25 for the vehicle. You will see the RV area.

I went a couple of years ago when my daughter and boyfriend ran a food van there. Great night. The fireworks is a local manufacturers display night as he showcases his fireworks to prospective buyers. It's not about ongoing displays it's about what each one does. The show goes for over an hour!

Made the well worth it trip to Gunning Saturday morning. I estimate about 200 caravans setup from Friday and Saturday morning, and then about 5000 spectators coming in when the gates opened at 3pm. Will definitely be marking in the calendar for next year. Sitting at the caravan, fire going and watching around 200 fireworks going off one at a time, with explanations on each one, then a grand finale that eclipsed any Sydney NYE show I've seen - Brilliant!
