Hi everybody, I have been having a good look around the forums for a few months now, while the Wife and I were contemplating updating our existing camper. We have renovated a 70's era Siddons Sunwagon over the last 4 years, and as our family grew with one child two years ago it still served us well. But now we are expecting number 2 due (August) the little old camper won't suffice.
We had been looking at vans on every holiday we do and both fell for the expanda's. My parents had a Jayco swan when I was a teen and when camping I still love having some fabric/canvas around me.
After a lot of deliberating sizes and interiors we settled on wanting a 17.56.1, but after looking around at the second hand prices we decided to go brand new.
Order was placed a couple of weeks ago on a new build, slated for a July delivery.
We can't wait to get our new toy and hopefully we get at least 1 trip in before the new Bub arrives.

I thank all for the great information I have so far learnt from this site. It made our decisions of what we wanted so much easier and clearer..
(The only thing I'm still undecided on is between privacy screens and storm covers.)

Cheers
Steve & Dani

Greetings @MuzBmc and welcome to the forum

Interested in hearing what extras you went for and plan doing afterwards.
Only reading the forums for a few months? Probably another few to go to get through them all ;)

July delivery.... Not long to go but expect a few sleepless nights when time gets closer 8-)

Thanks Dagree, as options, we got
ESC, tv aerial, dinette bed converter (for porta cot), outside 12v socket, external shower with hot water service, extra water tank, extra gas bottle. 150w solar and battery.
It is coming from prestige in geelong and we asked for the black privacy screens. But now im more leaning toward some storm covers.
as it is being towed with a sz tx rwd diesel territory i will wait to see how close we are to weights before we bother with an annex.
between ordering this, trying to sell camper, building a new shed, and the arrival of a new bub i am expecting a lot of sleepless nights before mid august.. lol.

:welcome: @MuzBmc . Just on the storm covers vs privacy screen, we have both and use both. We always have one or the other fitted, depending on the weather.

I don't know about planning any mods yet chartrock, but that will probably change once we get it and use it. I'm still yet to own a car that I haven't modded in some way another.
We haven't done 2 trips in a row with the camper that something on the van hadn't been changed in between trips. It has become one of the family and will be hard to see it go.
