Sorry @Bluey , I even had to look up where Cooroy is. It’s a bit out of my territory on the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Mabye @DRW or @Drover would be a better choice for info. Are you after a place to stay or just info on what’s around?

I can’t help you there @Bluey, especially with the current weather. I am not game to drive to our daughter’s place just 8kms away with roads flooded etc. DRW or Drover are a lot closer but may be under similar conditions, things are a bit wild in the “Sunshine” state ar the moment.

A few years too late @Bluey i used to live fairly close to Cooroy but now I’m a bit over 3 hours away but when the weather eases if you’re still keen we could work something out I’m sure

Well no floods or anything up this way really, thankfully,.......but on a visit to my local and I find he has refurbished and mounted something that I used to drive back in my younger days, in fact from 17 yrs old.... 3 versions of this Bofor I drove.

The old Bofor, I maintained these at West Head Gunnery Range as a youngster back in 1975-6 era. From memory, there was the Mk 7 (hydraulic), the Mk 9 and the twin barrel Mk 5.

Yep, West Head, Gunnery heaven for sure, 4.5 turret, 40/60's, 50cal and the under over 50cal with M2 mortar, awesome weapon. This is a Mk 7, did time on HMAS Australia , I gave the fellas an operator's manual for them but must have lost the maintenance manual over the years....if you know of one let me know.... I loved the old Mk5 , was M3 Gun Capt on 'Detta, great times, nearly killed me but I loved it.
I wandered thru West Head on a refresher course in 76 I think, had a ball, way better than when an OD.
