Firstly, what does it take to be called a 'resort' these days?????!!!!
While we were not expecting something like a resort on the East Coast of Bali etc, calling this place a resort is a stretch (yes, tongue in cheek)
At the back, closest to the cliff wall is a main administration building, comprising office, bar, 'restaurant' and social get together area.
To one side of of that are average hotel rooms and an inground pool.
In front of the building is parking and fuel bowsers, then the grassed camping area, then two levels of caravan parking (around 20 spaces)
Spaces have water and power connection (nice water too), but no waste connection. Sites are all gravel nd may need a little adjustment with levellers under wheels. Fire places are located between each two spaces, but bring your own wood.
Showers and toilets are terrible and rated lower than most long drops in my daughters mind. There were three of each, severely under whelming for the number staying (especially with large group bookings of campers), were dirty and smelly. One of the male toilets was blocked and with floaties for three days, one door in the females' off its hinges and others not locking. Severely unimpressed!
The place did the job overall. We plonked down, and visit all the gorges etc around. Plus there is the Glen Helen gorge itself a short walk away which was pretty sweet. Cold but a nice swim on a hot day!
However in contrast, Ormiston Gorge is only a few kilometers away and appeared to be a much more pleasant place to stay. I reckon this would be where we plonk down next time...

We did arrive on AFL Grand Final day, and they had it on in the social room. So maybe seeing the Bloods lose upset me too much to be positive.....
BTW, we went for a drive to Ross River Resort to find that 'resort' was even less resortish.....
