Just became new member, don't have expander, but have ordered a work n play 17.51-2hl ob at the recent Perth caravan show. Picking up a lot of innovative mod. ideas and will have a lot to share. Started our camping ventures in a tent . Then moved to a camper trailer tent styler off road, could have gone any where, but never saw gravel let alone rocks or sand. Moved onto jayco eagle outback, plenty of mods , could have gone any where, great camper, but never left bitumin. Went back to tenting and resorts, (boring) so here I am don't really need off road, for some reason ended up with another one.

Welcome Grano n Play. I bet this forum gives you the off road camping bug. There are plenty of off road trip reports that will make you want to take off somewhere tomorrow.

Welcome. We got an offroad and it seems to look for tracks! Had never ventured too far off the blacktop before, even though we could with our last camper. The Expanda loves the dirt and heads for it at any opportunity!

Tell us more about your van. Looks like a 'work and play' yes? What options did you get, and how long till delivery?

Yes work n play . We got the 150lt fridge upgrade. , air con upgrade(was told more quiet and efficent) will see, the solar pack ( 90 watt panel) hopefully will Be big enough to charge battery. Winegard antenna mounted to roof, toilet n shower, outdoor shower, . Extra fold up bike ramp ( we have a quad) .. That's why we went work n play , we did sacrifice a lot of cupboard space for rear garage section, but u sometimes can't have every thing. And of course outback pack ......alot of the mods will do myself, like shelves in wardrobe and kitchen ,undercarriage hose storage, make our own waterproof bed end flys and annexe walls(wife can sew) , and so on... hopefully should get van middle of June.

Sounds great. We got the 90w solar pack and for some reason they put 2 x 60w panels. I didnt complain. It charges the battery before you can make your second cup of coffee.

Welcome Grano n Play. The 90w panel will charge your battery fine. Look forward to your contribution when you eventually get your Expanda home. Wishing you less Work and lots of Play when the day comes.

Yes the versatility was the main reason, I was almost about to sign up for a expanda,(wife tried to convinced me I don't have to bring my quad every where we go) but pulled out at the last minute ( and no I don't normally get my way. ) but did this time., and went with w & p. We have a couple hundred acres about 1hour from Perth , so normally bring farm quad ,chainsaw, whipper sniipper ect. So it was a no brainier. Base station was to big.

Welcome to the Forum.
You just brought back memories!
I had a T shirt with "Gday from WA" across the front that I got when Fremantle held the Americas Cup back in 86.....
