Got a new gadget today so I thought I would start a thread where we could add our latest gadgets! My friends have called me Captain Gadget for years coz I love a good gadget and have a tendency to collect a few, but since joining the forum it seems I really should be demoted to private Gadget because there are few members here that make my efforts pale into insignificance ! :third:

Anyhoo!

My old wireless meat probe bit the big one last weekend so I thought it was time to upgrade and being a big fan of Apple products anything with an i in front of it is going to get my attention so instead of just buying another cheap probe I bought an iGrill! It sends its info via bluetooth to a free app on your iPhone iPad etc and tells you your food is ready and and and I'm pretty excited!!! :target:can't wait to cook a roast in the Weber on Sunday night to see how good it works

Hi @Capt. Gadget, friends of ours have a 'similar one', can't remember what brand, purchased off of ebay. She loves it. They have a large area of tiled floors and that's where it does it's best work. She has used it on the carpet in the bedrooms with lots of hair and fluff picked up but it only does a surface clean (but sometimes that's all you need). They are much better on hard floors. Expensive little gadget but from reviews I've looked at the iRobot is one of the best performers. They also have a very small waste container and need emptying quite often. With lots of tiles, 2 dogs and a daughter with long hair, I think I might like one for myself. :D Mrs. W

Gadget update!!
The iGrill worked a treat with the roast Chook in the Weber on Sunday night had a little hiccup with the Bluetooth connection but a reboot on both the iPhone and the iGrill did the trick . Had the alarm set to tell me "Your food is ready" and it went
Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready Your food is ready
and I nearly said "Yes Dear" but managed to stop myself because she was standing next to me !

While not a "i" product, it does match up nicely, it's tiny and yet produces amazing sound.
It's the Bose Soundlink mini.

For those who haven't come across something like this before, it's a Portable rechargeable sound system that you stream music from your iPod, phone or any other Bluetooth device.
I didn't option a stereo with my van as I was intending to pick up something like this. Just sit it on the drop down picnic table, and control the music from the comfort of your camp chair. Battery lasts for 7 hours and it comes with a charging dock.

We got one of these from JB-Hi to play music from our Iphone. Good enough sound for the van, more than loud enough and small so you can move it around, even hang from the hockey stick if you want.
