ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
our 70's siddons sunwagon is now up for sale
we got this van as an engagement present and spent a lot of time and money getting it to where it is today, it still has some short falls, and would be perfect for someone who wants a vintage camper they can still personalise.
Interior has been completely rebuilt using Paulownia timber (extremely light like balsa but as dense as pine) wardrobe travels on floor when van is down, and the table top can be lowered to seat height to use as a child bed (we had our portacot on it)
storage under seating and a nice amount of cupboard space.
new cushions, covers, curtains and mattress foam were done when we renovated.
power is only 240v, we re-ran electrical with new RCD safety switch, power points, switches, microwave and smoke detector, exterior has all new LED clearance and rear lights
Canvas on the van sides is still the original but waterproof treated and still in good condition, all flyscreens, pvc windows and zippers on sides were replaced when we renovated the van in 2012
bed end canvas/flyscreens & zippers were replaced in 2015. Bed tops are made out of a marine waterproof fabric and we had a pvc strip stitched to the canvas back to protect bedding from water.
no gas in van, bottle is there for use only for our bbq.
Fridge is a 2 way, and was inspected when we renovated, and worked on both gas and 240v power. but found inoperable on power (we never intended to connect gas) when we reinstalled it. so we unplugged it and have used it as dry food storage.
Water is from a hose only, van still has its old water tank but is disconnected. we had an external power point put on the off side of the van for outdoor use where the old tank filler was.
brakes, wheel bearing, new alloy rims and all three tyres were replaced in 2012.
it has a bump brake hitch and they work quite well. we have no idea on the weight of this van and will update after we get a chance to go over a weigh bridge with it. But it would be well under 1t, ( i can push it around on my own)
we had custom made sail track bed flys made
it comes with a period style awning and a jayco light weight annex that we mounted sail track for use on the off side of the van. all poles ropes and pegs included
this is a great little first van for someone with a handy streak. it has been a labour of love for us to build and we will be sad to see it go. we are only selling as we have an expanding family and have out grown it.
Stupid low offers wont be accepted
inspections welcome in Melton West vic.
Full pictures of the renovation can be seen on request.
