Folding rear bumper bar

Hi,

I've made a folding rear bar. I made mine to suit a bike rack and an outboard motor. This allows you to leave these items still mounted and still use the rear bed ends. You can simply fold them down.

I recently got back from a holiday in Queensland and had quite a few people approach me and ask all about it. I was thinking of making a few and selling them on eBay or through this site.

Just wondering if this would be something that would interest people?

I did end up fitting led tail lights directly onto the bar as well.

At what cost just for one to hold bikes

Bike racks are around 150 there is probably about the same in steel and paint.

A little for labour and then if you want or need lights I haven't thought about it too much yet but I recon 500 would cover it.


Too big to post tho and you do need to weld two supports on under the van just to be safe

Nice setup do you get much bounce with the motor on the back like that?

with the motor I would say yes I did get a little but it was not worth worrying about on the main roads.

it might a little more on the dirt but then if you lay with tyre pressures and take it easy you it shouldn't make too much of a problem.
